As it would turn out, taking the time to go down the Jagged Pass would pay off. As Thomas made his way down the ledges, he would spot something on the ground. The black and blue creature was weakly crawling around, looking as if it had been involved in a rather brutal altercation. A trail of blood followed the badly wounded Riolu, who only looked to be getting worse by the second.

Thomas would rush up to the blue pup, grabbing a Pokeball from his belt. As Thomas got close, the Riolu would attempt to stand up, and take a fighting stance, only to immediately collapse back to the ground. Thomas would send out Colt the Clawitzer near the wounded Riolu. The Riolu would look at the Water-type, then at the trainer, with a defiant, disgusted look on its face.

But what would come next would shock the Riolu.

"Colt, Heal Pulse!", Thomas called out urgently.

The Clawitzer would charge up a burst of healing energy in his gigantic pincer, before lobbing it at the Riolu. Though it didn't heal all of his wounds, it would do more than enough to take the edge off the worst of his injuries, sealing them just enough to the point where they weren't nearly as threatening as they had been before being hit by the Heal Pulse. The Riolu struggled to get to his feet, looking up at the trainer in shock, before stumbling again.

"You lost a lot of blood, buddy. While that might've taken the edge off, you still need proper treatment. What do you say I help you with that?", Thomas asked the Riolu, extending a hand to the blue pup.

It was now up to the Riolu whether or not he'd take Thomas' help.
